NX LONDON HOSTEL
ACCESS STATEMENT
INTRODUCTION
A Backpackers Hostel in London offering budget style rooms.
Situated in SE London, close to New Cross Gate or New Cross Tube Train Lines with easy access to London Bridge or connection to the Jubilee Line.
NX LONDON HOSTEL is well connected to all parts of London by bus, train and tube and only a short bus ride (15 minutes) to the O2, if you are visiting London for a concert or event. We are also situated close to Goldsmith University of London.
We offer a variety of rooms, including small dormitory rooms and private rooms suitable for Individuals, small and medium groups.
We offer great value prices, a dedicated staff, and great facilities including:

- Complimentary continental breakfast
We aim to cater for the needs of all visitors in this 4 storey building located in South East London. We do not have any ground floor rooms, and the building does not have a lift to any of the floors.

PRE-ARRIVAL
*The nearest Train/ Tube Station is New Cross Gate, which is within 100 metres of the hostel

*The Nearest bus stop is within 50 metres of the hostel. There is a frequent bus service. All buses are accessible.
*All the black cabs in London are fitted with grab rails, a wheelchair ramp and an induction loop. These can be caught from underground stations and public places, or via the Black Tax App/ website.
*The hostel is situated in a residential area, the roads are well maintained, with a pavement and street lighting.

CAR PARKING AND ARRIVAL
*There is parking located directly outside the hostel, this is chargeable and with time restrictions.
*Free parking is available about a 10 minute walk from the hostel, around Fordham Park.
*To walk from the Free Parking to the hostel, there is up a slight hill/gradient, but the roads are well maintained with street lighting.
MAIN ENTRANCE AND RECEPTION
*The hostel has a few steps leading into the small reception area, which is well lit.
*The entrance to the hostel is gained through a single door, opened by intercom/ buzzer system, or by code after check-in. If you are hard of hearing, please press the buzzer a few times and a member of staff will come and assist you. The door opens inwards.
*There is no seating in the reception area.
*There is lighting and security cameras around the hostel entrance.
PUBLIC AREAS
Halls, Corridors and Lifts
*There is a good colour contrast to floor, walls and doorways throughout the building.
*Flooring is either laminated flooring, or linoleum flooring throughout the public areas.
*There is no lift in the building.
*Each floor has particularly good natural light.
*Staff are always on hand to offer assistance where required 24 hours a day.

WCS/SHOWERS
*There is no WC facility on the ground floor/ reception area.
*Unisex Bathrooms are located outside of the rooms on each floor.
*The bathrooms are not fitted with grab rails, emergency cords or low level washbasins.
*The hostel does not have a Disabled WC or Disabled Shower/Bathroom
LOUNGE/ COMMON ROOM
*Is located on the upper floors via the stairs.
*The floor is level and surfaced with wood flooring.
*Inside the room is a sofa with tv, tables and stools.
*The room is well lit, with ceiling lights and large windows.
*All furniture can be moved, please ask at reception if you require assistance.
SELF CATERING KITCHENS
*Are located on the upper floors via the stairs.
*The floor is level and surfaced with wood flooring.
*The room is well lit with ceiling lights.
*The Kitchens have good facilities including fridges, ovens, microwaves with crockery and utensils.
*Staff are available if you require assistance.
BEDROOMS
*All doors to the rooms are standard single doors and have a maximum width of 780mm.
*There are call points/ Fire Exits on each floor – Please ask a staff member on check in to explain the fire evacuation procedure, and where the fire points/exits are.
*For guests with hearing difficulties, please inform a member of staff on reception, so they can be aware to assist you, if the fire alarm sounds during your stay.
*Unless otherwise stated all bedrooms have bunk beds. You can request a bottom bed at the time of your reservation.
*All bedrooms are well lit with ceiling lights, good natural light and floors are level surfaced with wood flooring.
*Lockers are provided on the 1st floor of the hostel.
*All bedding is provided / Towels can be provided on request.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
*We do not have storage for bicycles.
*We do not permit pets, but assistance dogs in private rooms are welcome.
*We do not permit smoking anywhere in the hostel.
*A Member of staff is available on site 24 hours a day.
*CCTV is monitored throughout the hostel 24 hours a day.
*Emergency Lighting and fire alarms fitted. We ensure that all guests are evacuated in the event of a fire or any emergency requiring evacuation. Arrangements for guests needing assistance to evacuate in case of a fire should be discussed beforehand.
*Evacuation procedures are displayed in each bedroom.
*Mobile phone reception within the hostel is very good
*Free Wi Fi Internet connection is available throughout the hostel.
